Lux Alptraum has been working in the field of sexuality for more than a decade, devoting her time to areas as diverse as HIV/AIDS education and pretest counseling, adolescent pregnancy prevention and sex education, and adult entertainment. She is currently the editor of Fleshbot, the web’s foremost blog about sexuality, pornography, and erotic entertainment. Maryann Abbott- Developments in Safer Sex
Maryann Abbott is currently the Project Director for the Female Condom Multi-level Community Intervention at The Institute for Community Research. Since 1999, Maryann has worked in the US and China on several research projects focused on HIV and women’s reproductive health. As heterosexual HIV transmission continues to be one of the most tenacious problems for reversing the epidemic, global public health initiatives have increasingly focused on new technologies including topical microbicides, substances currently in development that would reduce transmission of HIV and other STIs and the female condom, the only woman-initiated prevention option now available. We will present data from two Hartford, CT studies focused on the acceptability and use of the female condom and a simulated microbicide.

As the most referenced scholar in the love research community and author of five books on the subject, in this talk Dr. Fisher discusses what happens to the brain when we’re in love. Helen Fisher, PhD is a Biological Anthropologist, Research Professor and member of the Center for Human Evolution Studies in the Department of Anthropology, Rutgers University and Chief Scientific Advisor to the Internet dating site, Chemistry.com, a division of Match.com. She has conducted extensive research and written five books on the evolution and future of human sex, love, marriage, gender differences in the brain and how your personality type shapes who you are and who you love.
